Red River Kart Club, West Fargo, ND– 6/26/2017
The last race before the 4th of july break for team DMA Motorsports would land in West Fargo, North Dakota at the Red River Kart Club. The sun was shining and the little asphalt oval was grippy.
Wyatt Reisenour and team Chaos made the trip as well as Brandt Winterquist with Winterquist Racing. Both were co-pitted out of the DMA Motorsports camp, and all 3 karts were hungry for that first win of the year on pavement.
We will start this recap in another class all together as todays note worthy race goes to the Spieker brothers. Gracin moved up to a more competitive class and in his first feature out raced his way home with a 3rd place finish. Brother Ashton’s kart got a little banged up in the qualifying heats but he must have used it as fuel for the fire as he put himself out front in the A-Main and never looked back, taking home the win in 206 Blue class!
Wyatt would take the track next in the 206 Black slide class. The qualifying heats were not so kind to him either as he would find himself having to pick his way forward from a few rows back. After getting booted from his second heat race for causing 2 cautions, the fire was burning pretty hot to fuel him into the A-Main where he would flat out DRIVE his way to a second place finish!
Now its time to cover the big boys with big motors and after a rough first heat race where everyone seemed to forget how to race with a little respect for each other, the spectators probably thought they were watching the novice class again.
The DMA Motorsports kart was wheeled by its owner, Anthony Kopp and would pull off a 2nd place and a 1st place finish in the heat races qualifying it to the #1 starting spot for the A-Main. Brandt would start place 3rd in both heat races and lock in to a 3rd place starting spot for the A-Main.
The Main event would run flag to flag and when the checkers flew it was the #37 DMA Motorsports team kart wheeled by Brandt Winterquist who would check off that first pavement qin of the season. The #7k DMA Motorsports house kart would roll across in 3rd after a hard clean battle with the #3s kart late in the race.
All in all the 3 teams of DMA Motorsports, Team Chaos and Winterquist Racing had a strong day bringing home a win and 2 top three’s. You could say collectively they delivered a 1,2,3 punch.
